RK Khrimey, former Minster of Arunachal Pradesh attended the program on Nov 18 and in his speech he stressed on the Gandhian Philosophy of cleanliness and hygiene. He asked the gathering to make cleanliness and hygiene a part of life.
On the same day Khrimey, also visited the State Bank of India where the Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB) company at Kalaktang had assisted villagers from and nearby villages of Kalaktang to open their accounts in the State Bank of India under the "Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan yojana".
Khrimey, while interacting with the villagers highlighted the benefits of the scheme launched all over India by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Cleanliness was drive organized at Boleng town under the initiative of the Boleng Bazar Committee on 19th November.
People from all walks of life participated in large numbers and carried out massive cleaning operations of all the colonies of the town.
The town area was divided into segments and committees were formed in each segment with a leader to carry out the cleaning work. The cleanliness drive under Swachch Bharat Abhiyan symbolically concluded at ADC office, Boleng.

ASCYA demand activation of BSNL
ITANAGAR, Nov 20: The All Sangdupota Circle Youth Association (ASCYA) has demanded activation of BSNL tower at Basarnallo.
In its letter to the general manager, BSNL, Itanagar, it claimed that the tower which was erected in 2012 is yet to start functioning depriving local people of connectivity.

Infant Mortality Reduction Programme
ITANAGAR, Nov 20: Infant mortality reduction programme in the form of a health camp was conducted today at Longbo village, a remote area in Tirap district.
The core activity of the programme is primarily targeted for welfare of the children below one year and pregnant women in order to reduce the infant mortality and maternal deaths in the district.
During the camp immunization, general health check up, ANC and Vitamin A supplementation etc was carried out. IEC/BCC on leading cause of death of infant and pregnant women and its preventive measures were given to peer groups.
Earlier, similar kind of programme was also conducted at Paniduria village on 18th November, said Dr.K.Perme DMO Khonsa.
ASM Lenka Panchayat seek IRBN post
ITANAGAR, Nov 20: Informing that four miscreants claiming themselves to be NDFB cadre had tried extorting money from the villagers and contractors of Tengabari under Lenka Panchayat on November 18 last, the Anchal Samiti Member has called upon the Home Minister to immediately establish an IRBN post in the area.
The ASM claimed that two of the miscreants, Prosant Daimary and Alhen Daimary, have been arrested by the local police and appealed for awarding exemplary punishment to the arrested persons.
Also claiming that people from neighbouring state often trespass in the jurisdiction of Lenka Panchayat, he requested the local police to conduct regular patrolling in the area.
The ASM further appealed the local administration to issue gun license to the people living near the boundary area.
SSA funds misappropriated in Arunachal: BJP
Itanagar, Nov 20: The BJP today alleged that huge amounts of central funds allocated for Computer Aided Learning (CAL) programme under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) has been "misappropriated" by Arunachal Pradesh education department, a charge denied by the state government.

An education department spokesperson said there was no truth in the charges.
The MoU was signed between the state's SSA Mission and the Arunachal Pradesh Manpower and Project Consultancy Ltd, on January 10, 2009 for supplying CAL materials to 256 primary schools in the state.

SSA DPC Biri Tach has advised teachers to be regular in their duty in spite of shortage of infrastructure. "Teaching is a noble job and one must do his duty from heart and soul," he said and urged the teachers to inform him of any problem while on duty and not to remain absent without leave.
Biri Tach also assured the teachers of all cooperation in case of unavoidable circumstance.
Appreciating the steps taken by the authority against the irregular teachers, AASSATA spokesperson Tagru Suraj appealed one and all, especially teachers to work hard for better education to children in Kurung Kumey district. He further requested the penalized teachers to think it 'as good lesson and not to take it on personal level.'

Seeking adequate funds for infrastructural development of Rajiv Gandhi University Rono Hills, AAPSU in its representation said that RGU is plagued with poor infrastructures. "The official of the RW Department in collusion with the contractor has diverted the work from its original DPR which violates the mandatory provision of PMGSY guideline," they further alleged and appealed to the higher authority to direct the contractor to execute the work as per original DPR keeping in mind the PMGSY guidelines and terms and condition of the contract agreement. "Moreover, there was an estimate for construction of Bridge over Sebi River at Chaiinage at an estimated cost of Rs. 91,75,051.77 which has not been built till today but the entire money has been released and siphoned off," the complainants alleged.

DAPORIJO, Nov 20: A two days Border Area Cultural festival was held at Orak in Limeking circle of Upper Subansiri district on Nov 12 and 13 by the Department of Art and Culture, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, in collaboration with North East Zonal Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur.
The festival was organised with an aim to bring together and provide a platform for the people of the border and backward areas to showcase their culture and tradition through folk dances and songs.

Union conducts plantation prog at Polytechnic

PASIGHAT, Nov 20: Several members of East Siang district unit of All Arunachal Unemployed Union today conducted a plantation cum social service programme at Govt Polytechnic College at Pasighat Hill top.
The union members in association of the polytechnic students planted 50 saplings in the college premise and also cleaned up the campus.
The union president (East Siang unit), Tanong Tamuk said the union has engaged a member for few months to the planted saplings by taking proper care and protection. The saplings are varied to fruits, shrubs and ornamental species.
Tamuk informed that his union has been demanding the authority for early posting of official staffs to the polytechnic institute besides providing necessary infrastructure for its smooth function. They also demanded the government for granting fund for erection of boundary fencing/wall around the college for the safety and security of the lives and properties inside the technical institution.

Will the condition get any better?
Dear Editor,
Adi basti is one of the oldest colonies in Itanagar and yet the road is in its worst condition. To top it one has to go through unpleasant smell of garbage laid openly in front of the colony which looks highly unhygienic and annoys you at the same time. There was never a concrete road. Few years back it was mended only to change and take its rugged and uneven form after a few rainfalls. Adi basti is in real need of attention from the concern authorities as the people residing there is facing great difficulties, also it is a sloppy area and a bad road connection can make it prone to accidents. I want to question the concern authority if the condition of road will get any better? Or it will remain neglected?

Reposing full faith in your leadership, the people of 35 Pangin Constituency elected the INC candidate placed by you in the last election hoping that he would convey our grievances to you for your kind consideration.
Under your leadership the people of 35 Pangin and 32 Rumgong constituency has been blessed with its own new district “Siang”for which we cherish and appreciate your government.
But your government has been misguided by our representative due to which the government has published the headquarter of Siang district as Nyobo which is not in existence. It is to inform you that there is no place called Nyobo in our constituency. Even the public of our constituency are in dilemma over the proposed headquarter. How a district headquarters can be established in a non existence area or place?
To clear the issue a committee was formed under the direction of our representative to recommend a suitable place for establishment of headquarter as per feasibility.
So accordingly the committee submitted its report to ours and the representative of Rumgong constituency recommending Boleng as the headquarters of Siang district.
It is reverentially prayed before you with folded hands personally and your cabinet colleagues generally not to allow yourself to be misguided by anyone for personal vested interest. To avoid the situation like Lower Siang is facing now we the people of Boleng town request you to kindly reconsider the name of the headquarter of Siang district as Boleng in the interest of the public.

Dear Editor,
I have read the article titled "Contradictory policies" in the reader's forum. It is really praise worthy of Nabam Tado, Member Secretary, AAPSU for having made the new and contradictory land allotment policy of GoAP public through this popular paper.
And I would request all student unions, civil societies, elite societies, professors and students of university and colleges, journalists, secretaries, social activists, RTI activists, ruling party and opposition party to debate, discuss and investigate the reasons for this new and contradictory land allotment policy which will have serious and far reaching consequences for the general public of AP.
After PDS scam issue, the journalists of this paper and other papers of AP, have completely stopped journalism. All the papers of AP just report very trivial news like this minister inaugurated this, there was this program, there was badminton, football, karate matches, there was this fire accident, this student union said this and that, and many more news which has hardly any substance.
The media especially the news papers of AP have become totally dysfunctional. It cannot even trace what the government is doing, it utterly fails to address essential aspects of society.
If you fail to do your responsibility, the society will never do its responsibility. Doesn't your conscience tell you about your duty?
My kind request is that you do some appraisal about your tasks and accomplishments. Can anyone of you do a survey on the conditions and contributions of newspapers or media or press in AP and publish it. Everyday so many people of AP read your paper, but they are being fed junk.
Am sorry for my many complaints. Bear with me.

The propriety of a controversies ridden Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) recruiting Assistant Professors and now advertising for the post of Finance & Accounts officer/Treasury officer that too at the time when it is under enquiry by Magisterial enquiry committee set up by Govt of Arunachal Pradesh to probe the alleged leakage of question paper in APPSCCE (Mains), 2014 is highly questionable.
It seems the present members of APPSC are making mockery of the prestigious constitutional body which is unacceptable and untenable.
